WISE & Healthy Aging offers a variety of support groups focused on areas ranging from men's issues, women's issues, caregiver issues and workshops on special topics.
Peer counselor volunteers, trained professional staff or clinical graduate interns facilitate these weekly groups which provide people a place to gather and share the challenges that growing older brings.
Loss (Bereavement) Support Group - A safe, confidential place to grieve the loss of a loved one and an opportunity to address one's own emotional needs
Women's Group: Expanding Your Horizons - A safe place to share the pleasure and pain of life, and to provide and receive emotional support
Men's Support Groups - Confidential and trusting environments in which men can talk about personal issues in their lives, covering both physical and emotional concerns
Women's Circle - An opporunity for women to share financial concerns and gain skills for making financial decisions (meets monthly)
Caregiver Support Groups - WISE & Healthy Aging's Adult Day Service Center provides emotional support, information, and referrrals to resources for those caring for a family member
Additional workshops and support groups are forming to address issues such as:
Hoarding, Coping with Disabilities, Reducing Anxieties through Mindfulness Techniques, Writing Straight from the Heart
Support Group fees are sliding scale, based on ability to pay.
