Melanie Gironda, MSW, PhD

As Director of Care Management, part of In-Home Services at WISE & Healthy Aging that includes WISE HomeCare and the Benefits Enrollment Center, Dr. Melanie Gironda and her team provide a variety of support services to ease the burden faces by frail and/or elderly seniors living independently in the residential community, including disabled adults who require assistance with daily activities of living.


Prior to WISE & Healthy Aging, Dr. Gironda was the Director of Clinical Services at the USC Family Caregiver Support Center where she supervised Family Care Navigators who provide support for caregivers through Los Angeles County.  She is also an Associate Research Professor in the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at USC, and has also served as Associate Clinical Professor, Associate Adjunct Professor, Assistant Adjunct Professor for the Dept. of Family Medicine at USC’s School of Medicine and the Division of Public Health & Community Dentistry in USC’s School of Dentistry.  Dr. Gironda has been Deputy Program Director of the California Geriatric Education Center in UCLA’s School of Public Policy and Project Director of the Older Korean American Elderly Project at UCLA.  She has also worked with the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center here in L.A.


A clinical social worker, Ms. Gironda brings a wealth of experience and expertise.  She holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Massachusetts, a Masters in Social Work from UCLA and her doctorate is also from UCLA from the School of Public Policy with a concentration in Gerontology.
