Miriam Caiden, MSG, PhD

As director of Community Aging Resources & Education, Miriam Caiden oversees Information & Referral Services, as well as the WISE Caregiver Training Academy. Most recently, Miriam became certified to teach our Schmieding Method courses through the University of Arkansas’ Schmieding Center for Senior & Health Education, to provide quality training to caregivers to the Los Angeles community.  She will also be working on building out the processes and systems for Information & Referral (I&R) Services.


Among her many accomplishments in academia, Dr. Caiden was most recently with the Division of Adult and Career Education in the LA Unified School District where she was a tenured teacher in programming for older adults. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from UCLA and a master’s degree in Gerontology from USC. Dr. Caiden also holds a PhD in Social Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics, and has obtained extensive programming and teaching experience with courses in memory, fall prevention, chronic diseases and healthy living, including acquainting seniors to computer technology.
