Grace Cheng Braun, MSPH

Grace Cheng Braun joined WISE Senior Services in July 2005 as the organization’s President and CEO.  She and Monika White, CEO of Center for Healthy Aging, with the respective boards, successfully took the two organizations through a merger in November 2007, creating WISE & Healthy Aging.

Ms. Cheng Braun’s career includes 26 years of healthcare strategic planning, business development and marketing communications experience.  Prior to WISE & Healthy Aging, she worked for six years as Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations at Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles – the largest, nonprofit, private, academic health system in the western United States.  At Cedars-Sinai, she was responsible for all marketing, public relations, sales activities, and community health outreach.  Grace oversaw four departments with a combined staff of 42 employees and managed several contractual relationships with external consultants and agencies, including a 24/7 call center. She was also the medical center’s official media spokesperson.  Ms. Cheng Braun has also served as Associate Director of Business and Organizational Development at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center. In this vice president-level position, she was responsible for human resources, public relations, legislative affairs, marketing, community/business outreach, strategic planning, program development and physician relations. While Santa Monica Hospital was part of the UniHealth System, her areas of responsibility were rated as “best practice” departments, and awarded the highest score of any other areas within the organization in a management survey that evaluated overall satisfaction, technical expertise, reliability, timeliness, service orientation, courtesy and responsiveness.  

She holds a master’s degree (MSPH) in health planning and policy from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the UC Riverside. She is an executive business coach, having completed the coaching certification training through The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, and is an accredited coach through the International Coach Federation. Ms. Cheng Braun is a two-time, past president of the Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Association of Southern California; has served on the Adult Degree Program faculty at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, Calif.; volunteers as a corporate trainer for LEAP, Inc. (Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to growing Asian Pacific American leadership in the public, private and community sectors where she has conducted workshops for Corning, Xerox and Microsoft.  For the past 15 years, as an adjunct professor at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, Ms. Cheng Braun teaches graduate-level courses in the International Public Policy And Management Program.   She has also taught marketing and branding in the Executive MHA program at USC and at UCLA School of Public Health.
