Michelle Quiroga-Diaz, MSW
As the Director for In-Home Services at WISE & Healthy Aging, Ms. Quiroga-Diaz oversees the Care Management, Information & Referral (I&R), Personal Money Management and Representative Payee programs, including supervision of care managers, field instruction and clinical supervision to Master of Social Work student interns. Michelle provides the training and supervision to I&R volunteers. She is also responsible for conducting in-home comprehensive, biopsychosocial assessments, with a focus on the needs of Spanish-speaking elderly and disabled adults.After graduation with a degree in Gerontology & Sociology from Mount Saint Mary's College, Michelle joined WISE Senior Services in 2000 as bilingual Care Manager, conducting assessments and providing comprehensive services to homebound, frail elders. She also assisted in the coordination of and provided support to “Companeros,” an elderly female social group who continue to meet regularly at the WISE Adult Day Service Center.
In 2003, Michelle returned to WISE & Healthy Aging after attending graduate school at USC. She served as Regional Manager for the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. Among various duties as a regional manager, Michelle trained and supervised Ombudsman care managers, student interns and volunteer representatives. In 2007, Michelle became the Quality Assurance & Training Specialist for the Ombudsman program and held this position through May 2009. She led and coordinated regional certification trainings for all Ombudsman representatives, including field instruction and clinical supervision to graduate student interns assigned to offices throughout the county. Michelle developed and implemented program policies, procedures and best practices. Michelle provided ongoing public relations, community education and awareness presentations on topics such as long term care resident rights, elder and dependent adult abuse, and mandated reporting requirements.
Ms. Quiroga-Diaz is currently preparing for her licensure examinations as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
