Director of Nutrition Services

Kathy Osburn

As the Director of Nutrition Services, Ms. Osburn plans, organizes and directs all administrative and program activities related to the delivery of the Elderly Nutrition Program, which includes congregate meals. In an effort to modernize the image of this program, Ms. Osburn began referring to the program as “Healthy Lunches” in all of our community advertising and worked to ensure the newly contracted caterer would be as committed as we are to delivering services that reflect WISE & Healthy Aging's overall mission of improving quality of life for older adults through innovative services. So far these efforts are working, as reflected in the nearly 30,000 meals we expect to serve to over 575 seniors by mid 2010.

Prior to joining WISE & Healthy Aging, Ms. Osburn was Regional Director of Adult Services for the Long Term Care division of the New York State Department of Health in New York City. This position was the culmination of seventeen years experience working for New York State in positions ranging from an inspector of single and family homeless shelters, Child Protective caseworker and mental health services analyst. Ms. Osburn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Master’s degree in Health Services Management and Policy from the New School University in New York City.
