Los Compañeros Program

The Compañeros Program is for non-English-speaking Hispanic elderly who may be depressed largely due to cultural/social isolation and debilitating chronic health conditions. The program provides them with the opportunity to socialize with their peers in such activities as discussion of current events, handicrafts, exercise and bowling. There are also opportunities to learn the culture and language of their adopted country through American Socialization classes, and health and education sessions to learn the elements of good nutrition and health practices.
