WISE Adult Day Services

The Right Choice for Your Loved One -- Providing Peace of Mind for Caregivers and Families

Caring for a loved one who is elderly and frail or has Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, Parkinson's disease, or the vestiges of a stroke, can be an exhausting task.

Often family members are left with feelings of uncertainty and helplessness about their role as caregivers and are overwhelmed by the competing demands of daily life, earning a living and providing full-time care to their loved one.

More than 20 Years of Experience

For more than 20 years, the Adult Day Service Center has been there to help. Located at 1510 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, the Center is open 11 hours a day (7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, so that caregivers can go to work, do other tasks, or take a much-needed break knowing that their loved one is enjoying the day in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

WISE & Healthy Aging's Adult Day Service Center is the only state-designated Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Our compassionate, professional staff is trained to work with those with physical or cognitive impairments and a plan of care is tailored to the needs of each client. Over the past two years, two members of the Center’s staff were honored by the Alzheimer’s Association at the Jim Segal Award luncheon for their passion and commitment to Adult Day Services.

Day services can be an excellent solution for both caregiver and loved one. A recent study showed that 87 to 96% of day care clients have either improved or maintained their function, helping to keep them out of the hospital or nursing facility. Families report that many clients of day care are more alert and more social, have lower rates of depression and improved sleeping patterns, and demonstrate improved physical ability.

  • Visits and Performances by Professional Artists and Entertainers

  • Transportation to and from the Center can be arranged by Center staff.
  • Shower service is available (for extra fee)
  • 'Companion-Sitting' drop-in service available for those that wish to attend on a per hour basis

Who Can Enroll?

The trained staff work with those with early, moderate or severe levels of dementia, including those with canes and walkers. We accept those in wheelchairs who have sufficient arm strength to assist in transferring. The Center accepts incontinent clients.

There are two distinct programs. The Olive Stone Program is for those with mild memory loss, Parkinson's, or those who have had a stroke. The WISE Care Program is for those with moderate to severe levels of dementia. The Alzheimer's Association has recognized Center staff for its excellence in care.
